This specific area is my preference because there are large amounts of children falling victims to physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and even neglect, which are in need of adult guidance. Most of these children suffer greater emotional than physical damage. These children may also become depressed or think of suicide. An older child may use drugs, runaway, or even abuse others themselves.
While there are many types of social workers: social workers that provide support to children in foster care, some that counsel children with school problems, some that assist elderly people, parents dealing with financial stress, and people that recently been released from prison. Social workers provide support and counseling to individuals and families who are undergoing some type of social difficulty or crisis. Such situations might include unemployment, poverty, substance abuse or legal trouble. They develop treatment plans with their clients, encouraging them to create and pursue goals for improving their lives.
Social workers get employed by government welfare and social service agencies, schools, in hospitals, and rehabilitation centers. Many work within the juvenile court system, which may require them to deal with youth in certain situations, such as those who have been caught with illegal drugs. Social work has its roots in the struggle of society to improve poverty and the resultant problems. Therefore, social work is intricately linked with the idea of charity work; but Social 2 must be understood in broader terms. The concept of charity goes back to ancient times, and the practice of providing for the poor has roots in all major world religions. Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, or a combination of any or all of those. Physical abuse is often the most easily spotted form of abuse.
Sexual abuse is the contact between a child under 18 and an adult. Emotional abuse can be difficult to pin down because there may not be no physical signs. Neglect is to be the hardest on to define. It is sometimes hard for someone to identify they are being abuse specially if they Have live with it for a long time. Child abuse is a serious problem facing our world today. Therefore, I think this world needs more social workers that are willing to be adult guidance and someone they can trust and have faith.

Usually abuse happens when someone grows up in an abusive home or they can’t manage their feelings properly. Many people who abuse distrust others. They can also have a hard time making friends or be angry towards other people or themselves. Abuse most of the time causes depression which can lead to suicide. Abuse should never go unreported because it might lead to long term damage and continued abuse.
If someone suspect anyone of abuse or being abused it should always be reported, and you should talk to a friend or someone you can trust. Fortunately, abuse can always be corrected. Everyone can learn how to stop. Professional social workers are generally considered those who hold a degree in social work. Often these practitioners must also obtain a license or be professionally registered. Social 3 In a number of countries and jurisdictions, registration or licensure of people working as social workers is required and are mandated qualifications.
In other places, a professional association sets academic and experiential requirements for admission to membership. The success of these professional bodies’ efforts is demonstrated in the fact that these same requirements are recognized by employers as necessary for employment. Being a social worker takes a lot of dedication and responsibilities that I am sure won’t be . hard for me to handle. I know that I will truly enjoy my position as a child and youth Social worker
